OMGoodness! This post is all full of emotions as my baby girl is turning FIVE years old in a few days …. and she started Kindergarten TODAY! First, I have no idea why schools in our area start so early, but secondly …. How is this happening? She’s my first hitting kindergarten and age five, so my mind is blown. With these milestones, I’ll share with you some awesome, affordable gifts for a five-year-old girl!
My Harper
My Harper girl is an amazing little girl who has an amazing spirit. She loves Jesus and tries to do her best in everything she does. Her smile is so contagious and her eyes have a perfect sparkle to them. Most the time I can’t believe God gave her to us to raise. We are blessed beyond measure!
As you know, she’s adopted … like me! She came fast and furious and we have loved every single minute with her. Five years in and it’s happening all too fast! How can we get time to slow down?!?!
The list! Affordable gifts for a five-year-old girl!
You saw my first-year baby must-haves and affordable gifts for a three-year-old boy recently … and I hoped you enjoyed them and found something for a kid in your life! So, now I hope you enjoy some affordable gift ideas for a 5-year-old girl … or somewhere close to there!
1 – Electronic drawing tablet. These things are pretty darn cool! At this age, they are learning writing and reading so they can use this tool to practice on. Or they can just draw and erase and draw again. So handy and fun! My kids love it when I draw something and they have to guess what it is! Or they ask me to draw something to see if I can do it. It’s just plain fun!
2 – Art gift set. Around five kids seem to love drawing and coloring even more. Their skills are increasing and it’s fun to take a plain old piece of paper and make it come alive. I got my niece this art set and she LOVES it. She used it so much I already had to get her a second one! Art is good and this keeps a kid buys without an electronic around!
3 – Pop-Its. These pop-it fidget thingies are addictive. They give you something to do with your hands and keep you busy. There are so many shapes and colors and sport teams and whatever. You may just want one for yourself!
5 – Barbies. Not much I need to explain about the desire of a 5-year-old girl to have a Barbie. There are so many options and accessories. A car, a van or airplane or more! And of course, can’t forget the Barbie Dream House!
4 – Guess Who? This game is super fun for kids! I know it says ages six and up on the box, but Harper is AMAZING at this game and she wants to play it over and over and over again!
More ideas coming …
6 – Makeup. My daughter LOVES to put on play makeup. It’s non-toxic and washable and loads of fun for a little girl! My daughter and niece constantly play dress-up and along with that comes makeup time! They haven’t quite perfected their techniques … but they are learning!
7 – Karaoke Microphone. I don’t have this item for my daughter yet, but it’s going to be a present for her birthday. I have heard so many great things about these karaoke microphones and they are cost friendly and provide music to many well-known songs. Can’t go wrong!
8 – Amazon Fire Kid’s Tablet. Or and iPad, too! Limited technology is great for a kid so they can keep up with the changing world. The Fire Kid’s tablet is a great budget friendly option!
9 – Scooter. I think it’s time to upgrade to a two-wheeled scooter … the three-wheeled is great for under five, but now it’s time for an upgrade! That’ll be something I grab Harper this year!
10 – Jump-o-lene. These things are super fun if you have some indoor space for it. Three to six are the recommended ages and my kids have had a BLAST with it…especially during quarantine time!
Bonus gift ideas for a five-year-old girl!
Bonus #1 – Hoverboard. I have this for my daughter for her birthday. She’ll get it in a few days and she’s will be super excited! Her cousin has one and she’s been begging for one since she’s a pro at riding it. I can’t wait to see her face when she gets her very own!
Bonus #2 – 16” bike. Time for a bike upgrade, if you haven’t already. So many options, you really can’t go wrong! Learning to ride a bike is a must have skill, I think. Just something that needs to be learned and then it’s second nature. And the kid’s sure enjoy it!
Whew … quite the list!
Well, that’s some of my favorite affordable gifts for a 5-year-old girl…now that I’m on the cusp of a 5-year-old girl! She’s so ready to turn five and grow up. I’ll blink and another five years will have gone by.
I’m praying the best for Harper and her first year of school. In God’s hands is the best place to be!
Let me know in the comments below if any of these gifts catch your eye!
Be blessed!
